Finding Relief from Seasonal Neck Pain, Sinus Pressure & Headaches During the Fall Months

I think the fall is the most beautiful time of the year. The air becomes light and crisp to breath; trees display a slow, colorful transformation and people begin to feel a more free from the oppressive heat of Kentucky summers. During the transition of summer to fall, energy begins to fall away from the foliage of plants, trees and flowers as it moves down towards the earth and into their roots. I believe something similar happens in our bodies. The heat of summer is no longer there to warm our muscles externally and as this energy begins to draw down into the earth, we may feel that we have the weight of the world on our head, neck and shoulders!

People often become more introspective in the fall, we are allowed to tuck ourselves in many layers of clothing and taste the last of the harvest of summer in preparations for the winter. I believe that for this reason, autumn can often be a time where pain flares up in the head, neck and shoulders. Sinus infections and sinus pressure become more prevalent due to the increase of mold and fungus in the air and on the ground of the freshly fallen leaves.

How Therapeutic Massage & Clinical Aromatherapy Can Bring You Relief

Massage can be a very effective and relaxing way to relieve tension in the head, neck and shoulders. This includes improvement in symptoms of TMJ  or clenching your jaw while you sleep. The clinical use of essential oils can relieve sore muscles and decrease inflammation. Essential oils are also powerful in battling  infections of the tissues. Pressure and infections in the sinus tissues can diminish greatly through the use of massage and  clinical aromatherapy.

Some people are accustomed to their seasonal discomfort of sinus infections. I have had a sinus infection only once in my life.  I can say it was truly the most uncomfortable  two days of pain I have ever had to endure. So, for those of you with such pain, I feel for you greatly and would love to help you to feel better.

Herbs and Health to our Mucosal Flora

Often, people are prescribed antibiotics for sinus infections. They may find relief of symptoms for a brief period but often find themselves sick again not far down the road. Antibiotics can weaken your immune system and set the body up for far worse infections in the future.

Everyone has bacteria in their body. Antibiotics are made to kill the "bad", or infectious bacteria we may host. Unfortunately, they also kill the good stuff that actually helps protect you from getting sick. Healthy bacteria are there to protect your body and to keep your immunity strong. If you want to heal from the ground up, I suggest that you try some healthy alternatives.  Mainstream health care practitioners are beginning to recognize how the root of sinus infections is often indeed fungal and not bacterial.

If you have a sinus infection, it is best to try something that will restore the natural flora within your body and target a fungal infection. By restoring and gently healing the tissues of your inflamed sinuses, you are not only healing your current infection but also preventing the chances of future infection. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions or would like to set up a consultation or massage.

A regular thirty minute massage and clinical aromatherapy session can be very effective to address the above issues. We can focus on your shoulders, neck, scalp and face to relieve tension and promote relaxation. We can also create an individualized aromatherapy formula to help offer relief while you are at home or at the office.

Wishing you happiness, warmth and health,

  1. I've had only one sinus infection too. The pain and discomfort lasted for about 4 days and I didn't know what the problem was. I tried a netti pot for the first time in the 4th night and when I woke up the next morning my symptoms were 90% clear! I've been using a netti pot for my sinus and allergy problems ever since and love it.
