I took a hike in Raven's Run Nature Sanctuary today. How nourishing to be in the woods--to have time to think alone and away from the city.
The sun lit up moss; glowing green between round rocks and compacted soil. The air was cool and crisp--remnants of winter. I felt like I had woken up from a nap in which I had not realized I had taken.
It felt just right to lay in the sun next to a tree fitted in a skirt of moss; listening to the sounds of the creek. I would close my eyes but only to reopen them to the perfection of nature. It is so vivid and more real than anything else I know...we have right to such reminders more often.
